The character Mo in "My Brother The Devil" is represented as both the protagonist and one of the antagonists in the film.
At the very beginning, Mo first begins as a protagonist, a cheerful, young, innocent and fun-loving individual.
This is communicated through the micro elements used at the very beginning of the opening sequence where Mo is leaving the school with the crowd of students. The Mise en scene already communicates something positive about his character with the use of the plain white shirt as it then gives the audience the first impressions that he is an innocent, youthful, positive and joyful person.
Furthermore, with the sunlight glaring off of his shirt almost acts like this angelic aura coming from him therefore adding emphasis to his innocence and youth. Editing is also used to communicate how Mo is represented in a positive light with the oversaturated colours in the scene which therefore makes Mo's surroundings look more lively and bright which is almost used as a reflection of Mo's character and slightly exaggerated it by also showing it in the scene he is in.
